Roxie came into the shelter system when her human died and left no provisions for her care. Despite what must be a confusing turn of events, she is an absolutely delightful dog. She is sweet and smart and very attentive. Roxie likes other dogs but when play time gets energetic she gets over excited and overly aggressive. She doesnt intend to hurt anyone, she just plays too rough so we think she would do best as an only dog. We imagine that she wasnt properly socialized and shes just so happy to have a play mate she cant contain her enthusiasm! Roxie would be the idea dog for a single person who wants a walking or jogging partner and best pal. Since she has spent her life as a pet we imagine that she is potty trained and knows basic commands and expect her to make an easy transition into her new home. Lets make sure to write a happy ending to this story! She is 6 years old and weighs 52 pounds. Although our usual adoption policy is, first come, first to get the dog, we do make special arrangements with people traveling long distances, so contact us to find out how to have a dog held for you. All dogs are spayed and neutered before they can go home with you. If you rent you must have written permission to have a pet. If you live in Mendocino County any dog you have now must be licensed.
