Goober came to us with a dog friend. We know they were cared for, as both dogs came to us neutered. However, someone did not keep Goober on heart worm prevention as he tested positive for the little buggers. We have started treatment and he will make a full recovery and lead a long, hopefully happy, life! For the 30 days of treatment his activity must be limited and we would love to find an especially loving, generous soul who would allow him to rehabilitate in a home rather than a cement kennel. Goober is a strong boy and, once hes back to his usual self, will need a confident adopter who is comfortable with this. He is smart, attentive and eager to please and has a soft, sweet side as well. Since he has been a pet, we expect him to learn house rules very quickly and suspect that he may already be house trained. We know its a lot to ask to take in a dog who isnt at their best, but we hope there is someone out there willing to do so. We know Goober is worth it! He is 3 years old and weighs 56 pounds. Although our usual adoption policy is, first come, first to get the dog, we do make special arrangements with people traveling long distances, so contact us to find out how to have a dog held for you. All dogs are spayed and neutered before they can go home with you. If you rent you must have written permission to have a pet. If you live in Mendocino County any dog you have now must be licensed.
